How long a massage should I book?
Most clients prefer a 60-minute massage. However, if you have several areas of concern, a longer massage may be beneficial. Come in and book an hour on your first visit. Your therapist will discuss future massage and wellness recommendations after evaluating your problem areas.
How does it feel?
Everyone is different. Expect to feel either immediate pain relief or moderate pain reduction. Some words clients have used to describe the feeling are: therapeutic, soothing, “working the kinks out”, strengthening, and revitalizing.
What should I expect on my first visit?
Before your first massage, you should plan on arriving approximately 10 minutes early to fill out the intake forms if you haven’t already. The first session should last right about an hour, and it consists of approximately 15-20 minutes of evaluation and assessments, and 40-45 minutes of therapy. Subsequent therapy length and frequency can be determined at the end of the session, based on your needs and goals.
Our therapy can be done through comfortable clothes, so you can either bring your workout attire to change into, or we have shorts and t-shirts we can provide for your session. Some of the techniques must be done directly on the skin, so women can wear a sports bra for these, but shorts will always be worn.
Payment is expected on the same day the treatment is received. If your company provides a flexible spending account (FSA) they will often times reimburse for this type of therapy. Please tell your therapist you would like an itemized receipt for reimbursement. Most insurance companies will not reimburse for any form of massage, although some are beginning to. Check with your provider for more information. We do not file or accept insurance, but we will provide you an itemized receipt if you need one.
